Bride in Waiting…..
There is always that one moment before a bride leaves her house for the last time which can be defined in an image. We took this image of the beautiful Heena, before she was about to leave her house for the last time to marry her childhood sweetheart, Prabhjit. There are so many connotations of this image, but one emotion which struck us the most was the anticipation…
We saw this quote, and thought it summed up the image perfectly, “The idea of waiting for something makes it more exciting” – Andy Warhol.
You maybe thinking to yourself where are the rest of the images… but we haven’t lost the plot just yet 😉 To keep you all up to date with our latest work, we have decided to release images on this blog page, as well as releasing our full blog posts. We have decided to name this area of our blog, “Enlighten” which can be defined as “Giving greater knowledge and understanding about a subject or situation”, which is exactly what we hope to achieve by releasing snapshots of our work 🙂
Do keep an eye out on the blog on how we design our album pages and how we make the most of using white space, and for a general good old nose around. We would love to take you on a journey to get to know us better…
We really hope you like the first of our images on the blog page, we would love to hear your feedback.
Team Johara 🙂
We were really honored that we were chosen to document Jas and Amrit’s Sikh wedding at the beautiful Gurdwara (Sikh temple) Sri Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara, Gravesend, Kent. We had such an awesome time covering all of their wedding events, that we were sad when it all ended!
You could say both sides of the family are into drink… one being alcoholic and the other being the good white stuff… Milk! Amrit’s family own a dairy in the Midlands and Jas’s family own a mobile bar hire company…so you could say the love of drink bought the two together?!
The wedding itself was HUGE! In terms of number of guests, it was probably the biggest wedding we had covered back in 2012, luckily the venue at the City Pavilion catered for everyone’s needs. Both sides of the family were so welcoming, and we really felt part of the family. The makeup master himself, Dil Matharu made Jas look a million dollars and Amrit looked liked the perfect handsome gentleman. They had such an awesome wedding reception and both were beaming in happiness.
We wish you the world of happiness together Amrit and Jas … the world is your oyster 🙂
We hope everyone enjoys the images as much as we do! We wish we could have posted more images, but we were afraid of everyone getting finger ache from scrolling down the page too much!
We really can’t believe its that time of year again…the months seem to fly by every year, but in the month of January it can only mean one thing…. The Asiana Bridal Show 2013!
The Asiana Bridal Show is the most prestigious bridal show in the UK, with over 100 exhibitors at the show, you will be guaranteed to find the best Asian wedding service providers in the country.
The show itself will be held on Sunday 27th January 2013 at the elegant Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel, on the Albert Embankment. We will be located at stand 330, on the Ballroom Level, which was exactly where we were last year!
On the day itself, you will be able to meet the Johara team, see our lovely artwork and will be able to browse through our beautiful albums. During last years Asiana exhibition, we really enjoyed the fact that we were able to talk in depth with our clients, and really got a feel as to what they wanted in terms of their photography for their wedding events. We have to say the best thing about the Asiana show, is being able to meet such a variety of different couples! It really is YOU who we thrive from, your personalities, your friends, your family, and the love between you! We were left totally buzzing from the last Asiana Bridal Show, so we are expecting to feel exactly the same this year, if not even better!
We have been very busy preparing for the best Asian Bridal show this side of Europe, so we really can’t wait to see you there, especially to show you what we have been up to!
The count down is on, we’d LOVE to see you there!
Team Johara 🙂
Ever since we started to use Sim Imaging for our personalised guestbooks they have been an instant hit with all of our couples. Considering the guestbooks can bring a beautiful, unique and personalised edge to your wedding, and the fact that the guest books themselves are skilfully and exquisitely made, it’s really not hard to see why they are so popular.
Here at Johara Photography, we can offer a bespoke, personalised guestbook which can showcase a selection of your pre wedding shoot photos. A guestbook is a great way to firstly show case your stunning images to your guests and it’s also an opportunity to intertwine your images with a wedding keepsake which will last you a lifetime.
You will have a handful of physical ‘things’ that will last you a life time after your big day, one of them being your wedding bands, the second being your wedding album, so why not add a third item to the list to include a guestbook, which will have all the good wishes from your friends and family. Reading those messages of good wishes after your big day is always an amazing way to reminisce from one of the most memorable days in your lives together. The guestbook is a keepsake that you can share with your family for decades to come and you could even show your children or grandchildren when the time comes!
We love printing images, and as much as we enjoy showcasing our images online, they also look and feel even better in print. The contrast and depth of colours can really be displayed with attitude.
We were really pleased when Sim Imaging got in contact with us to tell us that they loved our images and would like to use the guestbook which we designed as one of their samples to use at their head office and at various wedding exhibitions. We have loved working with Sim Imaging, the quality and workmanship of their products is truly commendable, and every one of our couples who have had a guestbook from Sim Imaging has equally been pleased with the outcome.
This particular guestbook showcased the pre wedding shoot photos from one of our couples, Sunita & Kam. We have loved the images from the start, as we had incorporated Sunita & Kam’s edgy personalities into their shoot to really capture the couple’s individuality. We have often had comments from others asking whether we had used models for the shoot, but we can clarify we did not – we can just blame Sunita & Kam’s good looks (and our photography?!)
Below are a few pictures which Sim Imaging took for us. We hope you get a glimpse of how we can inspire your personalities into a well loved guestbook, which you will love for many years to come.
After the success of the Asiana Bridal Show, we think we got the Exhibition bug! Johara Photography will be exhibiting at the Bluewater Wedding Fair (Glow) from Thursday 9th February to Sunday 12th February 2012.
Why don’t you come down to one of the biggest and prestigious shopping centers in Europe and fix your retail therapy itch, grab some yummy food and then come down to the Wedding fair and see what there is to offer! It is guaranteed to be an exciting, luxurious and beautiful show from start to finish.
We are so excited to meet everyone at the show, its going to be a good one! See you there!
The Asiana Wedding Exhibition 2012 took place at the Riverbank Plaza Hotel on the Albert Embankment on the 29th January. It certainly was a jam packed, super busy and super charged day for the Johara team! We really enjoyed the buzz and the pure excitement of the day, and it was amazing to meet so many different people. We loved the fact that we were able to interact with potential clients, and got a real feel of what they wanted for their special day, and we were able to show off our lovely albums too 🙂
Although we had a small stand, we would like to think we made an impact on the day, our Johara colours stood proud! We were also so glad that our childhood sweets were a hit, including the popping candy, which went down a treat!
Big thank you to all friends and family who came to show their support, it definately did not go un-noticed.
Until next time! 😉
So, here we go again for another year of amazing, beautiful and thought provoking wedding photography! We simply can’t wait to kick start this year with a bang, and to start us off nicely we have decided to do the annual Asiana Bridal Show at the Park Plaza Riverside Hotel, London.
The event itself will be held on Sunday 29th January 2012, and will be presented by Madhu’s catering and Sunrise Radio. The event attracts around 12,000 spectators, so we are expected to have lost our voices by the end of the day!
We will be situated on the Ballroom floor, so please do come and say hello to the Johara team to have a look at our most recent work, or maybe just to have a chin wag!
We simply can’t wait for the Exhibition, a lot of time, blood, sweat and tears (well maybe not the tear’s!) has gone into ensuring the day runs as smoothly as possible.
We hope to see some of you there!
